Industry Council Open Amiga Announces Election Results for Steering Committee

The offical developer support group of the Amiga platform, the ICOA, recently announced that it has completed its election of all of its steering committe members. The election, which was guided by a transitional, founding, steering committee, was conducted on the Web.

The election placed the four developer representatives and one user representative. Amiga, Inc.'s representation on the committee will be forthcoming. Elected members are:

Nova Design (Kermit Woodall)

Nova Design is the development firm responsible for the image processing application ImageFX, the 3D modeller Aladdin 4D, and the animation processing package Wild Fire. Mr. Woodall has been organizing developers' conferences for the past several years.

Phase 5 Digital Products (Wolf Dietrich)

Phase 5 is a revered Amiga hardware vendor and developer headquarted in Germany. Phase 5 manufactures a variety of add-on products for Classic Amiga, including video cards for Zorro-bus Amigas and accelerator cards for the Amiga 1200, 2000, 3000, and 4000 architectures.

Olaf Barthel

Olaf Barthel is a long-time Amiga developer. His work includes a lot of development on the Amiga OS, and he spear-headed the Amiga Developer CD-ROM distribution. Olaf has been a consultant to Amiga, Inc. and done work with fine Amiga developers such as Softwood, Inc.

Harv Laser - User Representative

Mr. Laser has advocated the virtues of the Amiga platform since day one, and continues to offer an online support system for Amiga users through the Amiga Zone subscription-based online service.

Ultima Thule (Petter Nilsen)

Ultima Thule Software has developed a number of Amiga applications, including Thor, a messaging client, PoolWatch, a memory allocation tool for programmers, and Weather Experience, a tool which monitors weather conditions around the world through the Internet.
